10 Kitchen Hacks and Timesavers
Get Your Time Back with these 10 Tips in the Kitchen
As a mom, a business owner, and a wife, I know time is of the essence. I’ve found some hacks and simple tricks to make my life easier and less stressful! By the end of the day, when dinner needs to be served and baths need to be done, these little hacks have saved me in the kitchen. I wanted to share them with you so you could enjoy your time in the kitchen and be able to make memories instead of headaches.
Wine
- Let’s start with the most important thing, WINE. If you anything like me a few nights a week I like to have a glass to help unwind and relax. Have you ever gone to grab the bottle of Chardonnay only to realize it lukewarm? Who wants warm white wine? So pop a few grapes in the freezer to have at the ready when you want to keep your wine chilled without watering it down, it adds good flavor too.
Label Makers
- Use canisters & label things in your kitchen pantry. It makes finding sugar, flour, and pancake mix so much easier.
Baskets & Bins
- Use a bin or a cute basket for containing Tupperware & lids. It de-clutters your cabinets and makes more space.
Food Savers
- Drape a paper towel over the top of a bowl of salad, & then cover it with plastic wrap to keep the lettuce fresh for a whole week!
Boiled Eggs
- Save time peeling those eggshells. Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda when boiling your eggs. The shells with come right off!
No Boil-over Cleanup
- Use a wooden spoon when boiling water. Place the wooden spoon over the top of the pot to prevent boil-overs.
Long-Life Spuds
- Store your potatoes with apples to keep them from sprouting too soon.
Brown Sugar Rocks?
- Add a couple of large marshmallows to brown sugar to keep it from drying out & clumping.
Dull and Dingy Pans
- If cooking & washing your aluminum pans have made it dull and cloudy over time, simply fill it with water and apple peels, and bring to a boil. The apple peels will shine it up and make your kitchen smell fabulous!
Frozen Meat, no Time to Thaw
- If you’re in a quick rush to thaw out your meat, Pour a bit of white vinegar on it. This will help it thaw faster and actually tenderize your meat as well!
I hope you’ve found some of these useful, I know I have. I’ve found when my kitchen is a mess & disorganized, I’m not at my best when I’m cooking or baking.
